Designer Karen Walker shows us how.Looking for a quick and easy way add some oomph to your fall outfits? It’s as simple as reaching for a silk scarf. Inspired by this season’s Karen Walker show, I reached out to Walker and her show’s stylist, Kathryn Neale, for step-by-step instructions on how to tie one on—runway style—and elevate your look.
Step 1. Start with a square-shaped scarf.
Step 2. Take one corner and fold it to the opposite corner to make a triangle.
Step 3. Press flat at the long end.
Step 5. Continue to do this about five times or until the entire scarf is folded. Make sure to keep patting and flattening the scarf down. Never roll it. The ends should look like the start of croissant or tiny triangles.
Step 6. Pinch the center of the scarf, where the fold started, and place it over your neck.
